It's Brian May (of the legendary band Queen's) birthday. It made me think about a track I recorded for my band Starbelly (15 years ago) that never saw the light of day. I went (maybe a bit too far) for a WWBMD approach to writing a guitar solo in the studio. Here's a bit of the thought process...
